Do I need a "cloud" router?
« on: August 05, 2013, 04:00:47 AM »

Thinking of getting a DLink security cam but the only issue is that I have a "non-cloud" wireless router.
Is it essential that I also get a DLink Cloud router so that I can connect to the camera online?   ???

Thanks!

What router do you have?

As long as it has upnp, u should be ok.

I have asus NT-65r which works  great.

As RYAT3 pointed out, the D-Link Cloud camera series have no specific dependencies on using a D-Link Cloud router (or even a D-Link brand router). UPnP support is the only hard constraint. You may also want to read about other users experience with your brand router on these boards to ensure compatibility.
