Title: Manual configuration of mydlink
Post by: Zipf on August 12, 2013, 03:14:43 PM
Hi All --

Just purchased mydlink-enabled 932L as a baby monitor.  It works great on my wlan through the web interface.  I'd like to be able to use mydlink.com -- but I cannot seem to get things working.

The problem I have is this:

My internet comes into my house in my garage, where my first router sits my VOIP device and always-on servers plug into this router.  After a 50' CAT-5 run, I have my second wireless UPnP enabled router.  This is what the dlink connects to.  I am pretty sure I have an issue because UPnP doesn't propagate from my wireless router to the first router in the garage.

So:

1)  Is there a manual way to configure this with port forwarding, in the DCS932.  I am comfortable manually configuring my routers etc?
2)  Does anyone know how UPnP works with AP-mode wireless devices?  Maybe that could work for me.  (Current I have two distinct subnets chained offer of one and other, e.g., "Router Mode" -- but I could put the wireless router in AP mode.  That might work.
3)  Also: anyone know of a linux way to set up mydlink.com.  I don't have a Windows computer in my home, but I could borrow one if this is required.

Thanks!

If anyone know, I'd really appreciate the chance to NOT run another 50' lan cable.

I recommend that you either put a external network switch between router 1 in the garage and the DCS camera or
Turning router 2 into an AP. (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=40856.0)
