I own 2 DSM-310 devices and upgraded the firmware on them both last night. After doing so I immediately used Netflix on the devices without a problem. I shut them off and tried to use them the next day. Now I get the message:
Unable to connect to Netflix. Please try again or visit: www.netflix.com/tvhelp
This happens on both DSM 310 devices, yet I can reach and use Netflix from my laptop on the same network. YouTube works fine on both...only Netflix seems to "freeze".
Anyone else seen issues with Netflix and the 1.00.55NA firmware?

I fixed it by performing a factory reset.
-
Did you try re-applying the new firmware to see if Netflix stops working again?
-
After applying the firmware update mine just sits at an amber light and won't go any further. I've tried unplugging it and letting it sit for a bit but it still does the same thing. Is there a hard reset that I can perform on the box or is it dead now due to the update?

Did you upgrade your FW via a wired or wireless connection?
From what I can see it looks like there are no buttons on the unit to perform any form of reset. If you are unable to get to the user interface I would contact D-Link and start the RMA process. Alternatively, you can try exchanging the unit at the place of purchase (presuming it's within the prescribed return period).

The firmware update happened using a wired connection. it worked fine after the update, then I shut it off, came back the next day and turned it on. that's when the amber light came on and never went off.
I may see if I can return it to the place of purchase for an exchange.

Post back and let us know how things turn out. ;)

Turn on the Dlink, move the select arrow to the "gear" in the upper right corner and press OK. This will get you to the settings area where you can go into "Maintenance" and do a factory reset or upgrade, or enter or change wireless connection info. Pages 20-30 in the below manual will show you. After an upgrade in my Dlink, it quit making wireless connection after a day or so, the connection information was empty when I went to the Maintenance settings section. It worked after resetting to factory and re-entering wireless info.

The manual is also available as a link off of this thread: DSM-310 - Resrouces (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47549.0) and the DSM-310 product page on the D-Link USA website.

I had the same problem, factory reset fixed it.

having same problem, factory reset DID NOT fix it.
once i start Netflix it hits the second bar on the Netflix startup and give me the netflic.com/tvhelp link, hitting the hme button, back etc does nothing. the only thing i can do i turn off the box, turn it on, and rinse and repeat until it finally works, usually its taking me 4-6x doing this for it to work, you guys need to fix this problem asap

This firmware is totally broken. it hangs the unit 9 times out of 10 so bad you have to power off and on again. 20 minutes and serial attempts to log on to netflix, really, this firmware cannot have passed even a cursory quality check.
A fix for this is needed yesterday, or this unit will go back.
It appears that a lot of people have to return these, if you look at how many places you can buy these refurbs...
Factory reset does nothing except annoy the user and force you to enter all credentials again.
This is exactly why I stopped buying D-Link routers and switches. 0-quality, right out of the box.
