Are you able to provide remote access to your router? Or I can provide you access to my 890 to test?
We can chat privately for this.

Can you try this? Set the routers default IP address from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.0.2?

Yes, I already tried that. IP changes and saves normally, but QOS-page doesn't still take any changes. I tried also with Edge and Chrome (both of which I generally don't use for anything) and nope. Emptied both browsers caches (though haven't used them to set router-settings earlier) and forced page update with Ctrl+F5, but no. Nothing saves on QOS-page (and there even flashes the window "Saving changes").

Teamviewer is a great and safe remote program to use.

Sounds like you may need to contact your regional D-Link support office and ask them for an RMA. If you don't have a back up router. Ask the for a cross shipment RMA if that option is available.

Let us know how it goes.

Yes, we had a testing and chat session with Gattsu and arrived at the same conclusion ;)
I'm trying to do the emergency recovery zeroing and updating it back from there. And if it persists, I'll be contacting them for RMA. I'll keep you folks up-to-date with how it's going :)

OK. I'm back with going through the procedure.
Installed 1.09 and then 1.10
At this point I tested the changing the QOS-settings and they worked properly. BTW I didn't reset factory defaults in any state and it remembered my old passwords etc. Well, anyway...
I then proceeded to update to the latest FW so 1.11 and then 1.20.
Tested QOS-settings and it was same as before. They didn't work. I then decided to reset to factory settings and got through initial settings. After this, QOS-settings were at their default and I tried to set them again and it saved them properly... Strange...

How are you doing the factory reset, back button on thru the UI?

Let us now if you can make any changes to QoS 3 days from now.

That was from UI. I have to say, that I don't actually remember, if I did the factory reset when I updated FW (ever)... But I will have to change the  QOS-bandwidth tomorrow, when they connect the VDSL-line. We shall see...

Finally the new speeds came up properly (had to call ISP and ask why I am still on 2 megs speed, though!)
Checked the real speed (something like 94ish down and 30ish up... Happy with the down, not so on up... 100/50 ordered) and went to insert new numbers to QOS. Lo and behold, it again doesn't save the settings >:(

Well, I opened the case at D-Link. Let's see how long I have to fight with them  ;)

Factory reset the machine (again), though and inserted the new numbers as that still works  :o

Keep us posted. I presume your unit needs to be RMAd.

Just got an accepted RMA-notification a few minutes ago, with a note:

"We are pleased to confirm we shall shortly be despatching your replacement product to you at the customer address shown below."
And
"The prepaid return label and instructions for returning the product will be sent to the email address registered to your customer number."

So, this was quick and it seems that I will be able to use this one until the new arrives. And then send this one back.

Well, that's excellent :)

P.S. Just got notification from UPS, packet should be delivered tomorrow...

Interesting, I have the same issue with QoS setting being impossible to set. Opening in HTTPS, get a 'Router not found' when attempting to save. Restarting box does not help. Using HTTP then I can 'save' the setting but when the page refresh it is still OFF. Same rebooting DIR890L does not resolve the issue. Wish I could use this functionality to ensure 2 of my high priority but low bandwidth required get ahead of anything gobling everything.

Then there's the issue of QuickVPN that just want to use 192.168.100.2 instead of allocating an IP that is actually within the range of what the DHCP server is set for. Because you know if I VPN to my network under that IP, I get nowhere.

Then there's the issue with 'The maximum number of permitted DHCP reservations has been exceeded.' that even if you go back to other devices and deassign IP reservation, let say even up to 10. The box still refuse to reserve anymore. Reboot don't fix that either, only fix is a full blown reset.

The DIR890L has good performance but the configuration are sub-par, are wonky under HTTPS constantly timing out, or giving router not found. HTTP works a bit better but still get time out when you take too long to make you setting you hit SAVE and get to the login page.

I never been able to run QoS, can I also get an RMA setup?

Rebooting didn't help me with getting the QOS to save, I had to reset the router and then it worked for a while (about 3 days, maybe).
I don't use QuickVPN or DHCP-reservation, so cannot say anything about that.
One thing I found, was that earlier I was forced to set router to reset itself every day (I have SmartConnect enabled). Because, at least, my Note 3 started to drop out of WiFi constantly, under 2 days of being connected. I had always used ipv4/6 multicast streams on, for some reason I though that I would need them (no, I don't have any IPTV or such). When I was configuring the "new" router, I decided to test and turn those off. I don't know if it's those settings OR the "new" router, but my Note 3 doesn't drop out of network anymore. And I don't have the router set to reboot every day anymore...

Btw. I have never seen an A2-hardware revision of 890l, didn't know there was one made :)

I would contact your regional D-Link support office and ask about this and for an RMA. If you've done most everything to resolve this and its still happening, I would get your unit replaced. Have support review this thread.

Yes, seem it is an A2. Thanks for the extra information, I never been able to get QoS setting stick which is my major pain. The other issue are just either poorly written software or due a bad unit. Because having to restart and/or reset regularly to get setting to stick is no fun, especially when you have time sensitive device that need to access the Net 24/7. This unit was bought to replace a router that I loved but died after many years of heavy duty services.:)

As someone suggested, I'll try to get in touch with regional Dlink see what they make of this.

Regards,
