It IS the fly in the ointment.  If I set up a username AND password on the DNS-323 that are different from the ones I use on Win7..... It reconnects the DNS323 Share every time I log into Win7.  Looks like if you use the same ID on both, you CANNOT have different passwords if you want it to reconnect automatically.

Yep, I suspect the two passwords for the same name confuses Windows.

Why not use the same password on the DNS-323, problem solved.

Yep thats what I've been doing.  But the reason I didn't want to do it was - The DNS323 only allows a password length of 8 characters.  I tend to use passwords of 10 characters on Win7.  So in the end I was forced to shorten my Win7 password to 8 so drive mappings would reconnect.

Just make them truly random characters, that should be reasonably secure.

They aren't random, but they certainly are secure - a mix of characters, numbers, and U/L case. Nothing you could find in a dictionary lookup as it contains no embedded recognizable words.

Yep.... Thanks for the dialog. I hadn't thought about the fact that the 323 and Win7 ID's were the same and that might not work if the passwords were different.  Should... in my mind - but thats a Windows credentials management issue... not a DNS 323 problem.

I have W7 Ultimate x64 running just fine with my 1.06 323. The drive appears everytime I reboot the PC!

Maybe you should read the whole thread and see what the specifics were.
