I have upgraded to firmware 1.1, Firmware Date    09/14/2012.

I'm having problems with
1. P2P Client - Bigger files are messing up things: 10GB+ files (HD movie, iso, etc.) when downloading after time the download stops. In the status bar the speed is not changing after refresh. When trying to stop and start it restarts, checks the downloaded part (it takes long) and continues for a while... than the same. I used to restart the device, than it works for a while.

2. FTP Server - I have set up the FTP, properly I think. When trying to connect from outside, in TotalCMD I get an error: Port Command Failed, in WinWSC: Could not retrieve directory listing. When I check the nas logs it says user is logged in (and out). What could be wrong?

When will be a new firmware release?  ???

Is there any reason the UK website does not list the new firmware for use?

I have an A1 DNS-320L, not sure if I should upgrade or not.

The D-Link China site contains firmware designated for worldwide (ww) use.

If by "reset" you mean purging the DNS-320L of all settings and restoring back to the factory defaults, the answer is "no". After the firmware updates the DNS-320L will automatically reboot and should function normally thereafter.  Firmware updates should not impact current HDD configuration, stored data, or user settings.

Thanks,

 D-link technique support told me to perform a factory default reset (as sound but in Spanish) after installing the latest version but it sounds strange to me.  ???

Best regards.

If you are adhering to "best practices" and  want to avoid potential conflicts (as remote as they might be), then that performing a factory reset is sound advice. I have two DNS-343 a DNS-345, and several D-Link routers and have never experienced issues updating firmware while maintaining the legacy user configurations.

Also, if you were to perform a factory reset, I would think that it would be best to perform the procedure BEFORE performing the firmware upgrade, so you're working with a blank slate.

I think so but I was told to perform it AFTER the firmware upgrade.  ???

I think I won't do it.

Thanks again.

I just touched base with the router moderator. . . He recommends factory reset before + after for routers due to issues he's observed over the years.  I haven't experienced issues updating FW on the ShareCenter series without performing a factory reset, although it can't hurt to perform the factory reset before + after.

when will be the next firmware release that will address the p2p freezing problem? Angry and i think this should be prioritized first before the many bugs infesting this device.  >:(

because this NAS is good for nothing if this will be the case for this whole year.  >:(

very disappointed with this product, so i did warn most of my friends bout this NAS.  >:(

But upgrade doesnīt work for A2. Power led blinks and no response from DNS 320L.

Press and release the power button > 8s doesnīt work to.

How can i restore/recover the firmware? Ty.

Bugs in v1.01b03:
- Auto fan speed donīt set properly, if stopped wonīt wake up to Low or High, freezing the device in high temperature. Changed settings to Auto (low-high);
- Local Backup donīt work (file and folder). Launches error without msg;
- Sometimes 320L become "freezed" and power led blinks while managing disks (local backup, formatting, ...). Need wait a long period to power on again;
- P2P still not working like in v1.0 (Shipping version).

JavaLawyer,

Any update so far I have upgraded my A2 device firmware to 1.01 (09/14/2012). The following problem still exist:-

- P2P 100% CPU utilization and freezing.
- upnp 100% CPU when connected to my smart TV.

Please let us know when the latest firmware will release to address the above problem. It is frustrating  >:( >:( >:(

Thanks.
