Title: What type of cable ships with the 4100?
Post by: networkme on February 15, 2011, 08:58:07 AM
My house has Cat5e and I was wondering what is the cable classification that comes with the 4100?  Is it just Cat5 or is it Cat5e?

Thanks!

Probably just Cat 5. I could be an e, not sure. Most routers seen now days are e's. It's compatible with Cat5e. Just the length of data on the non cat 5e doesn't go as far as 5e or 6. You can mix cabling. It's not cruicial to be all at one CAT in the home.  I would work to ensure all are the at the same lever or above.
