IP Address Host Issues - DWA 140
« on: July 28, 2014, 08:38:06 AM »

I have a DWA 140 revB range booster and Windows XP SP3.  Recently, I have experienced problems whereas I am connected to the Internet but the IP addresses keep expiring and I can't load pages.  However, I still have an Internet connection signal.  I have tried clearing the DNS cache, but the problem keeps reoccurring.  Occasionally, I also get the error message regarding "ANIWZCS2 has encountered a problem."  I had previously gotten this message in the past, before my recent problems occurred.  However, I use to click OK and everything was fine, but now it's not.  The Internet page cannot seem to resolve the host.  I checked "Start UP" when running msconfig, and there is no ANIWZCS2 box to uncheck.  I have a AT&T U-verse Wireless router in another room in the house and a Belkin extender in the room with my computer.  I am not sure if my problems are due to my wireless AT&T U-verse router, Belkin extender that is near my computer or the D-Link range booster.  My laptops that are in the same room with my U-verse router work fine.  I have also shut down and turned on my AT&T U-verse router and Belken extender, but it does not help.  AT&T gave me the DWA 140 when they installed it, but they did not give me the CD that goes with it.  Any help would be appreciated in getting this problem resolved.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?
  • What wireless modes are you using?
  • 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
  • Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
  • Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions. Try channel 48 or 149 on 5Ghz.
  • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
  • Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by?
  • Any other WiFi routers in the area? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many?

Be sure to download the latest DWA-140 drivers from your regional D-Link support site, remove the older drivers and install the new one.
