Found this today - I think I might be giving this one a try! ;D https://youtu.be/3Sh25X9vwOA (https://youtu.be/3Sh25X9vwOA)
I have yet to try any type of home network camera, and I think now is the time ;)
Any chance of devoting a forum TOPIC for the newly announced D-Link Network Camera's?

I got this camera today. The Wireless AC range is not very good since it has no external antenna and it is small. It can't connect to an SSID if the SSID is hidden (on a DIR-890, a D-Link router to boot). D-Link is really bad with software/firmware side and it appears to be getting much worse. It's a shame because they have nice hardware ideas on paper, but they fail heavily with firmware/software, security, and privacy. The worst part is that these problems are getting worse over time, not better. Tread carefully. My 2630L camera is going back to Best Buy tomorrow for a refund.

Thank you for the feed back.

Too many products too quickly is making it unbearable. When you go dropcam or now nestcam its just a nestcam. Not 500 different cameras. Dlink needs to limit the number of cameras. Hardware wise 180 degree, 1080p, memory slot, wireless ac, infrared. Then just have an outside and a inside one. Then they could focus on the software. And enough with the names just call it a dlink Inside/outside cam 1 then next generation 2 etc. This 180 degree was the first real useful feature I have seen in quite some time.
Thank you for the feed back.

I found this issue also. Unhiding the ssid, connecting, then hiding the ssid appears to lock it in. Mine is still connecting.
The 960l did not have this issue.

So if you leave the SSID un-hidden, does the DCS camera connect then?

Yes, that's what I'm saying.
I was able to rehide the ssid after connecting, and the camera now connects to the hidden ssid.
It just won't connect on initial set up when it's hidden. (My experience).
And after reading his post about poor ac speed, I'm going to move the camera close and turn off the 960l and see if that helps the response time. Maybe camera will register after that if it speeds up. Currently both are about 8 feet away above a table.

Ok, just confirming the experience.
Be aware that the HD camera is in 1080p so the data stream will be a factor on the wireless router.

I'm just trying to navigate the admin pages. Takes forever to load in. 960l is snappy, very quick.

I may have spoken too soon. ::) Maybe this was why I had the issue with the webpage timeouts in the F/W.
I went to hide my SSID again on router #2 - 5Ghz #2, and it refused to connect. Connected to camera. Rebooted, power cycled, reset password - nothing.
Unhid 5Ghz #1 - and it connected automatically. Re-hid 5Ghz #1 - and it's connected - but timing out again
Definitely would like to have the hidden SSID connect and work, like the 960L does so seamlessly.

I'll have D-Link review this.
