Cannot access web login --> need "real" reset
« on: September 06, 2015, 08:21:54 AM »

Hello,

I already posted my question in the DNS-325 section, but user FurryNutz told me that here I would get help earlier.
So here is my post:

I have a huge problem and hope you can help me.

I installed fun_plug and twonky on my DNS325 with this instruction:
https://wolf-u.li/4523/hdd-installation-des-fun_plug-auf-nas-geraeten/

Everything worked fine, until I started the installation of MySQL:
https://wolf-u.li/4695/konfiguration-von-mysql-und-lighttpd-mit-php-unter-ffp-0-7/

After that I cannot access my web login of the nas anymore.
Only on port 81 I get the web login page from the sharecenter. After I log in I get the message: "404 - Not found".

I tried the hard reset button on the rear of the nas, but it didn't help.
I thought about reinstalling the firmware, but I don't know how to do this without the web access...

Does anybody know how to reset the nas completely? Like deleting everything modified/installed on it to get the "normal" status.

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

PC Web Browser Configurations
What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8, 9, 10 or 11, set compatibility mode and test again.
Disable any security browser Add-ons like No Script and Ad-Block or configure them to allow All Pages when connected to the router.
Clear all browser caches.

Is the DNS getting an IP address? Check the main host routers DHCP IP address table...

Hello FurryNutz,

thank you for your answer!

I'm using Chrome and tried also FF. Cache and add-ons are disabled.
The DNS is getting an IP address from the router (192.168.178.108).
Only on IP 192.168.178.108:81 I get the web login page from the sharecenter. After I log in I get the message: "404 - Not found" on every browser, because the address in the address field changed to "http://192.168.178.108/web/relogin.html"
When I enter the port 81 manually (http://192.168.178.108:81/web/relogin.html), I get to the "relogin" page of the share center.
Perhaps I need to change somewhere the standard port to 81?
Do you know how to reset the DNS completely?

Ok, after inserting port 81 in the IP after logging in, I can access the web login. Will an fimrware update reset everything on the DNS? Will it reset anything more than a normal reset with the button on the rear?

I got it. After simply uninstalling fun_plug, everything is like before.

Thank you for your help.
