Types of SD Cards supported by DIR 857
« on: July 18, 2012, 11:11:07 PM »

Does anyone know here what type of SD Cards are supported by this router? Does it support SDXC Cards as well? I have tried SDHC and it works, so SD and SDHC are not an issue but wanted to buy an SDXC for storing and streaming music through DLNA, but not sure, if this router supports SDXC. Please feel free to share your experiences / knowledge. Thnx.

Heres a list of what DLink supports. Some cards may not have been fully tested.
Let us know if you encounter any problems.

Enjoy.

Thanks FurryNutz. SDXC UHS-1 was what I was hoping for it to support.

What about a DCS-2230? I am trying to use a SANDisk SDxc 64GB. I formatted it NTFS, but it does the camera does not recognize the card. Says it is unavailable or unformatted. I also tried deleting the partition.

You need to check in the DCS forum to see that is officially supported by the DCS series products.

You might try NTFS as a test and see.

I recommend that you post your question asking for SD card compatibility here: DCS IP Camera Series. This will offer an opportunity for other D-Link camera owners to weigh-in.

The DCS-2230 web UI has an integrated feature that will format the SD card for you.  Using your browser, log into the DCS-2230 and navigate to SETUP > SD Card. This screen contains a Format SD Card button.
