How do you update firmware manually? on the dongle it says ver:4.00 and I have ver:4.06. Its only allow through drivers update. also how to check which firmware is currently running in windows10?
thanks

Most DWA adapters don't use FW updates. All use and operations are updated thru there installed drivers...

Latest drivers can be found at http://tsd.dlink.com.tw (http://tsd.dlink.com.tw)

is there any windows application to see what fw is running? driver update doesn't give any info regarding fw.
thanks

Do you mean driver version? There is not a way to update firmware on this adapter, only drivers.
The version printed on the box or device is the shipping version.
To see what version you are running in Windows 10, in the search box type "device manager". Go to Network Adapters > right-click the D-Link adapter and select Properties. Click the Driver tab.

I mean firmware ver not the driver ver. device manager driver section only show driver ver. just want to know what firmware this dongle is running.

I have no idea. Just curious by why do you need the firmware version? Drivers run the device. The firmware is not updateable unless you are using 3rd party source code.
