OMG I know... same thing with me man... I kept getting India and they just kept reading me a script.  It might be me that can't figure it out but D-link sure has not helped at all. If they are going to make a GAMING router they should know how to make it work with GAMING SYSTEMS!!! No doubt the 4500 would be the best option for gaming but if you can't get it to work what's the point. I'm just going to switch to Linksys E3000 and hopefully that will work with less long distance calls.

There is no hardware or firmware conflict between Dlink and Xbox. Its either settings or situation specific. Not to say that makes it any easier to fix, but just because two dlinks had a issue, doesn't mean its the dlink. If it was all d-links, you have any idea how many posts would be here? You have a valid point about their technical support. But thats more technical support in general, and nothing specific about dlink. Case and point, name onen technical support you DO like? ::grin::

Well I just played 2 hours over my adapter on N had had a great time. I didn't do well in the game but oh well. I had 4 bars the whole time.

I think your adapter is probably selecting the best signal which is G band instead of N band if your running Mixed N and G. The adapter is probably scanning for what is best and picking it. Signal depends on how far the router is away from your receiving devices and what is all in between them. Walls and such. 2.4Ghz does work better over 5Ghz as that frequency for any OEM router that uses that band is more susceptible to interference from obstacles, thats just the nature of the beast there. Been enjoying this adapter and N. Next week I'll be on G mode.

Does the new xbox connect on G mode at 2.4Ghz? Does the new xbox support N?  I presume it does. If the old one connects to the 4500 over N and the new one doesn't, I presume the issue is with the new xbox and not the router. Try G mode 1st and let us know how it goes.
Review the Gaming and Gamefuel sticky and try those settings.

I had the gaming router and had nothing but issues with it. I now have a dir-825 from dlink and I can not connect to my xbox in N mode either. Something with dlink and xbox??? I had to upgrade my firmware to get it to connect to my xbox in g mode. I spent $$$ on this router and does not work like it should with the xbox. I call for help and NO ONE speaks english. Very Very upsetting. Then if you do get someone that speaks broken english they try telling you it is U not the dlink..... I had the old xbox with the n connection. I now have the new xbox s with the built in wifi and still can not connect to the N network. My dell laptop does but my xbox won't? I wish Dlink would fix their issues with this.

Yea, I think your hunch is right Furry. There are some conflicting propritery standards that occur when you have your wireless set to multiple bands and radio. I have a feeling its the MSC. Try 2.4ghz, N only, Auto Scan, Transmission rate 54(no mcs), channel width 20mhz, Visability On, Security mode None. See if it connects then. The thing is, I don't think the 360 is higher of the capable of the higher transfer rates.
