Title: VPN passthrough not... allowing any VPN traffic to pass through?
Post by: kezzism on September 21, 2020, 10:51:34 AM
So I've recently set up a VPN server on a Mac server running on the same network as my DSR-250, which thus far I've had no issues with port forwarding including UDP so I can MOSH into it. However, trying to set up this VPN thing, and I find there's options in the DSR-250 under Security for "VPN Passthrough" which sounds like exactly what I need! Allowing traffic to ports 500,1701,4500,1723 to go unmolested onto the local network. Just one problem: even with all of these switches on I can't get any of my VPN clients to connect!

I've also tried the custom service route with no luck, adding one to forward UDP traffic on those aforementioned ports to the correct server in the network, even when it's enabled under Firewall Rules I still can't connect!

Anything I should be doing differently?

Be sure your FW is updated.
Review the user manual for VPN configuration information.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.
