Does anyone ever encounter a problem where, if you are downloading lots of files (high bandwidth usage, torrents for example), your wireless connection will just stop working? It will show that it is still connected but browsing/downloads/uploads nothing works. Usually this is remedied by disconnecting and reconnecting to the network again. Any ideas why?

Seems quite logical that when one causes a 'traffic jam', all traffic comes to a stop.

Torrents create massive upload traffic (people (BT clients) connecting to your Ip. Since the upload (send0 bandwidth is average very limited, the bandwidth gets congested. As a result you can receive data, but TCP IP is based on ask-reply-acknkowledge (send-receive-send) so the send is smothered. Clear?
