Windows 8.1 disconnects netcard, reseating in usb required
« on: June 15, 2016, 05:32:24 PM »

I'm not very happy with D-Link.  I am experiencing this exact issue and their answer to this when I called customer support ,after doing my do diligence and trying all 4 driver packages, is to do an RMA.  What is angering me is that after I spent $50 on their product now I have to pay to ship it to them and ship it back.  So I am having to pay more money to get a product that should have worked in the first place.  Also if the product is found to be in working order, which it is on Windows 7, I am going to get charged a %10 restock fee.  This is not very good tech support for something that they have been having trouble with for 3 years now.

So D-Link doesn't have a answer for this issue. Just a FYI for anybody looking at this issue.

If it's working on Windows 7, may indicate that there maybe a problem with Windows 8 PC...
Be sure the PC HW drivers are up to date.

Aparentlly this issue is in the Version A FW1.01.  D-Link replaced my adapter with the newer Version C1 FW3.01 and the issue has disappeared.

The only issue I have with D-Link is the fact that I had to pay shipping to and from D-Link.  But this issue has been resolved.

Glad they go you a working unit. Thanks for posting the results. I presume this will help users with older Rev A units and would need to get them replace with Rev C units.

Enjoy.
