mydlink.com and Java Application FAQ
« on: April 30, 2013, 10:39:21 AM »

Update 8/01/2015: If using IE and other browsers, you need to install the D-Link Universal Media Player plug-in when requested on mydlink web page. Java is no longer supported .

mydlink.com Supported Browsers
Internet Explorer 7 or higher (32-bit) - Add mydlink.com to the "Compatibility View" exceptions list.
Firefox 12 or higher
Chrome 20 or higher
Safari 6 or higher (Mac OS only)

IE 11 and DLINK Active X Install
A quick workaround is to enable developer mode (F12), go to the button icon on the right (Emulation) and select "Internet Explorer 10" instead of "Edge" on Document Mode.

Also add the IP address of the device your connecting to in Java's security exceptions list as well:
Updating to the most recent version of Java may cause the Live View for some D-Link network camera models to not work properly when viewed from a web browser. This latest update may impact other browser-based network camera functions as well. The following procedure can be used to adjust the Java security exceptions in Windows after updating to the latest Java version to restore access.

Procedure

  • Open the Start Menu on the bottom left of the Windows Task Bar
  • Expand All Programs and navigate to the Java folder
  • Open Configure Java inside the Java folder
  • The Java Control Panel will open in a new window
  • Select the Security tab
  • Press the Edit Site List button
  • Press the Add button and enter the D-Link Cloud camera URL or IP address
  • include http:// or https:// (for secure addressing) before the URL or IP address
  • Press OK (Edit Site List window will close)
  • Press OK (Java Control Panel window will close)

Note: Selecting Java from the Windows Control Panel may not provide access to the Edit Site List option on all PCs. The above navigation path must be used to access these settings

Notice:
Don't block mydlink after recent Java update
2013/05/01 00:00

If you have upgraded to Java 7 update 21, you may notice a pop-up Security Warning message prompting you to select “Block” or “Don't Block.” Please choose "Don't Block" within mydlink. This is a known issue from Java's latest release. We are currently working on a solution to fix this inconvenience. If you happened to block this application and are not able to use mydlink, please Contact Us @ mydlink.com/contact. We apologize for the disruption and appreciate your patience.

For any remote web browser access and operation with the mydlink.com web site to work correctly, Oracle Technology Networks Java application needs to be install on any Apple OSX, MS Windows or Linux PC devices as the mydlink.com web site requires and works with the Java application to enable the Cloud access features of various Cloud enabled D-Link products from a remote location.

Mobile devices like pads or cell phones do not require this as they have the mydlink mobile application.

Please download the appropriate platform version of Java for your computer system here:
