Using torrents locks router
« on: April 29, 2013, 08:55:12 AM »

I'm running firmware version v2.05EU Build: 09beta05 (could be beta06 though) and when using torrents my router locks up, i'm unable to accesa admin page but the rest still seems to function.

Now i'm planing to upgrade to a beta version latest 2.09EUb09 seems to kill IPv6 routing which i need and the latest 2.08 i could find is beta 4 but there you can't change WLAN passwords.

Which firmware would be the most stable to use in my situation with torrents?

The stuff mentioned in the FAQ i understand but i don't have bandwidth issues it's just when my NAS is downloading using torrents the admin page gets unreachable and can only be viewed again if router is restarted.
Stopping/disabling torrents, disconnect NAS and other computers and only leaf admin system conencted doesn't help either.
Something is happening in router so i want to upgrade to a more recent stable firmware.

You might try v2.08 as a test then try v2.09. If you don't need IPv6, you could disable it. If you need IPv6 then you probably shouldn't install v2.09. You can always downgrade.

Please follow this:
FW Update Process

I would not load any saved configuration files and set up the router from scratch after the last factory reset and test the torrent connection with your NAS, if it works then finish the configuration.

And which 2.08 would that be? I can only find beta 4 which has a bug in saving WAN passwords?

Ah, on a temp site. Just be aware that the Temp sites are not officially supported by D-Link and are for certain items.

Let us know if it fixes your problem.

Sorry for my late reply but i flashed this version DIR-825_fw_revb_205EUb09_07_all_multi_20120106 and all issues seems to be gone.

Only thing is that i'm thinking of flashing dd-wrt now :P
