Opening Firmware file
« on: March 28, 2008, 01:20:45 PM »

Hi:

I was going to upgrade the firmware from v1.02 to v1.04

At the download site all I get is a 1024K file with a .bin extension.

How do I open that??

The file has an extension .bin that can only be recognized by the router, not the computer.  You have to log into your router on a web browser using the address 192.168.0.1 and use "admin" as your user name and usually there is no password to enter unless you entered one in the past.

From there, select the tab option "tools" then the menu option on the left side "firmware" and click the browse button to find the firmware that you saved.  When you find it, click on it, then click ok and click "save settings" which will then upload the new firmware onto the router.

Also, try to keep this in one thread, it's easier for us to help you resolve the problem at hand as we would need to know what was suggested or done previously.
