Title: Installing Shareport for my DIR-655
Post by: ihorp on July 14, 2015, 06:52:01 PM
Hi.
I've had my DIR-655 for years (no problems with it) and now I want to connect an external drive to the USB port so all the PC/laptops in the house can use it for backup. The firmware is current (1.37NA,  2013/06/06). I never needed Shareport before and read that I do need it in order to use the USB port.  I've downloaded the most current Shareport for the router (4.30) but when I try to run it, I get: Windows cannot find 'C:\Users\Tato\Appdate\Local\Temp\wzaa88\Shareport_V430_131226\Setup64.exe' Make sure you type the name correctly, and then try again.
The Shareport manual only talks about installing from disk and not from a download.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

One other question. I read that there was a limit to the size of external drive that can be supported. I saw another blog that says it will only handle up to 1TB.  The drive I have is a WD My Passport Ultra with 2TB. Will I have a problem?
Thanks
