Why is the 655 rebooting randomly?
« on: November 15, 2007, 02:28:45 PM »

It's rebooting randomly when I have Access Control or the web filter enabled? When these are turned off, no problems. I need these features in the network and this is one of the reasons I bought it this router. I have it running in N mode only with one laptop client with a DWA-643 express card. I'm running firmware 1.10.
There has to be a fix for this bug.....right?

Do you have anything else on the network (NAS, media server, etc)?  Does the router reboot when the PC/NAS/server is turned off?

I had one spontaneous reboot after upgrading to f/w v1.10 which was one too many for me. I reverted back to f/w v1.05 which has never rebooted while running.

I don't have anything else in the network. Just one wireless laptop at this time. I don't remember having any reboot issues with 1.04 and 1.05. I think I'll be reverting back to 1.05 and see if there are any issues.

I had the same problem happend onece when i was playing CS Source online game.
It disappears after i give up playing that night.

sigh...
this router has some major bugs that really needs to fix.

-the firmware has problem with many service providers. As i know in Canada, people use SHAW(a provider in west coast) has problem with firmware version 1.05 and up.
the solution to have new version on their router is to use EU firmware version 1.11EU.

cheers~
