DWL-7700AP
« on: September 17, 2007, 12:31:32 PM »

Some Qs and As concerning the DWL-7700APs not my questions or my answers but good info.

->  Can H/W versions A or B use 3.11 firmware for DFS2 compliance (or in this case not actual compliance but DFS2 avoidance) or just H/W version C1 as firmware 3.11/ 3.11+ will have features and bug fixes?
No, you can't load 3.11 on A, it will crash.
You can actually load 3.11 on B, but it will NOT ack as DFS2 band disabled since the country code in the EEPROM is not modified.

->  You mentioned a new H/W version due out in the next 3 months.  Will this be H/W version D1?  Shipping in Q108?
H/W D1, shipping in Q108.

->  Is the new H/W (MB82?) 802.11h compliant for DFS as well as TPC?
The H/W D1 will compliant for DFS and TPC.

->  Will this H/W allow for UNII-2, Mid-Band and UNII-3 channels (I forget if this is the case and if so would then allow us 20 channels 52 - 165)?
H/W C1 allows: 149. 153, 157, 161, 165 - 5 channels.
H/W D1 will allow:  52, 56, 60, 64, 100, 104, 108, 112, 120, 124, 128, 132, 136, 140, 149, 153, 157, 161, 165 - 20 channels.

->  Will older H/W versions function using WDS links with new H/W versions (C1, D1) assuming the same channels is being used?
Yes.

-> New indoor APs will also drop the UNII-2 as well correct?
Right now the UNII-2 are all taken off from the list.
