no device is able to access the internet if the router is in a "failed hung state".

ill see how its current stability is with the wipe/flash/wipe you had me try .

for 170.00 a pop im hoping a bit longer than a month. :)  Such a shame too it was really fast when it worked.

My old DGL4300 started failing (after 5+ years) too which is why i had to go get a new one to begin with.  Tried the asus nt65u or whatever it was and it died within a week.  This one took a month.

how hard is it to make routers that will just last a few years anymore.

Makes me wonder if something in your area or on you power lines is effecting your equipment. Seems to be a trend you seeing...failing equipment. Well I've had mine for months now and has been good. Keep us posted on the new one. Might have someone help you set it up or review your router settings with ya.  ;)

Failing routers.  Clocks did get blanked a week or so ago.  So the power has done things lately.

If I could get my previous router (also a dlink) to run solidly for several years I highly doubt it is my inability to set it up.  There is no justifiable reason that all the computers on my network can't access the admin page when the router does its locking up for no apparent reason gag.

Not doubting your abilities here man.

Just seeing some sort of trend with your routers and possibly linked to your power situation.

Let us know now new 857 does. Possible something got hosed on one of those power events.

Router after intermittently failing and being forced to reboot it.  Finally just completely gave out.  No internet what so ever through it.  Hooked up my old DGL-4300... taadaa internet.  So after going through the hoops with tech support got the old one RMA'd.

New one hooked up and working.
