Dir-655 using Dir-615 to boost my wireless range

Hi;

I have a D-Link DIR-655, and I want to extend my wireless range using my old Dir-615 router.
The Dir-655 is my main router which is connected to a Speedtouch 516 V6 modem.
 
The  Dir-655 router will be connected to the Dir-615 router with a cable from one of the Dir-655 lan ports to the internet port of the Dir-615.

UPnP and DHCP disabled on the Dir-615

I'm assuming they both have to have the same SSID.
What about wireless channel...the same on both routers?

My Dir-655 has ip 192.168.0.1
My lan ip address range is from 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.199

Should I give the Dir-615 an ip address within this range?

Am I missing something here? I've read a lot of different approaches to this and somehow they don't seem to work, so I figured I would post this topichere in the Dlink forum to get it right.

Any help will be appreciated!!

Just use the dir-615 as an access point.
1. connect Lan of dir655 to Lan of dir615
2. turn off dhcp on dir615
3. give an internal (lan) ip to the dir615 which won't conflict with the dhcp ip's of dir655
4. preferably set a different ssid and channel to dir615 as dir655 has

This way it should work as an access point. Tested this setup with other brand and models though, but the theory is the same.
