Title: Entering ADSL user name in a DSL-G624T
Post by: PhillB on August 12, 2009, 09:02:53 AM
Hi,

I'm trying to set up a DSL-G624T wireless ADSL router fpr my dad in France but his ADSL user name has a / in the name.  When I eneter the name as fti/tub the router won't accept it with a message special characters are not allowed.  Is there any way round this as I can't get it to connect unless I can save his ADSL user name and password.

Thanks,

Phill.

I found the solution which is to upgrade the firmware to v.628 but when downloading the update from d-link uk although the zip file is entitled ...628 its actually v.523  once unzipped.  Searching on google found the file on d-link france and that's the correct one.  Tried to find a contact e-mail for d-link to let them know the error on their ftp server but they don't seeem to list one.  Any idea of what address to contact?

Thanks,

Phill.
