FF 52 ESR and MyDlink Plug In Not Working
« on: August 03, 2022, 07:36:00 AM »

Not sure if FF 52 ESR swill works with the DLINK plugin. I tried it on W7 64 bit but the Dlink Plugin from the DLINK portal doesnt show up in add ons despite installing. Is hits an issue or what, if any, is a workaround? I have read bits and pieces on the forum but seems the discussion died. Thanks in advance.

Thanks, will try IE 11 11.0  I tried a sightly updated version 11 point something and it was not succesfful. Did this in W7 too. Received message that browser ws incomaptible.  Are you using the base 11.0 version?

With FF ESR 52 the plug in installed but was not visible.

Using Windows 10 Pro, I think the version of IE11 I am using is the "last" supported version. Or perhaps the "latest" version.

Updated info: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
    svcVersion    REG_SZ    11.789.19041.0

MyDlink services plugin is showing in my Apps.

Here is what it will look like when you get it working. Do not expect it to look like the Portal. I edited out some info for privacy.

Live View still looks great and, apparently, it does not time-out like the Portal used to.

Thank you so much again. Is your version of W10 fully updated? Do you have both Edge and IE 11 installed?

I will try IE 11 on W10 but my W10 OS is fully updated and I have Edge installed.

I am familiar with that GUI as that is what I was able to access before. My aim is only to be able t oremotely change the email address where all the motion photos are sent. In fact, this stopped working for me and I need to fix the deature remotely. Is this stll acheivable once logged in?

Win10 is fully updated.  Unfortunately, I never used the email alerts feature, but I hope you can get it to work.

Thanks I was able to confirm it works with the 32bit version of FF 52.9 ESR and better with IE 11. FF worked on a previously installed version of W10 (full patched) 64-bit. IE 11 would not install as the OS was 64-bit. I went to a W11 PC and using Hyper-V with 32-bit OS was able to get it to work. I hope this helps other people.

I had forgotten the DLINK website is not modern and will only work with a 32-bit browser basically. Borders on insanity IMO. Wont be purchasing DLINK for future IT needs.

IE11 is always installed in Win 10, even if they make it somewhat hard to find.

I had to drill down through the directories to find the exe for IE11, then pinned it to the start menu.

C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe
