DAP-1360 : Repeater or Acess Point?
« on: April 04, 2012, 06:10:56 AM »

We have 3 DAP-1360 in each floors, the router we used is a TL-WR941ND. The tenant in each floor keep complaining that they're not getting any signals inside their room.
I think the DAP-1360 in our house is being used as a repeater. And I'm thinking if it's better to set it up as an access point.
What can you recommend? I wanted to increase or boost the signal inside their rooms, and I'm clueless with how DAP-1360 works, I did read the manual but still not able to know which one is good for boosting the signal.
Each DAP-1360 is being placed in a top left corner of the floor.
Anyways, is there another way to boost the signal? Any help is appreciated.

What wireless modes are you using on the host router?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
Try setting a manual channel to a open or unused channel.
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto.
What wireless devices do you have connected?
Any other WiFi routers in the area? Use InSSIDer to find out.

You could use AP mode and use the same SSID name, just make sure each DAP and host router are on different channels.
