Possible missing drivers?
« on: August 19, 2017, 10:54:35 AM »

Hi. Ive purchased a D-Link wireless apater and I am shocked at how slow it is. My router isnt very good and is quite slow (around 10 mbps). After plugging in my new usb wifi adapter (DWA-182) I went to check my wifi and I was getting 0.50 mbps! I was shocked. The wifi on my school chromebook is better than that! This product is supposed to be high speed as advertised on the box and im getting 0.50 mbps! I feel like I have missing drivers or something. I am running windows 10. The adapter did come with a disk but like most people I dont have the required hardware to use that disk in my pc.

  • What Hardware version is your DWA?
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?

Did you install the adapter using the latest SW package from D-Links support site?
What PC/Laptop Mfr and model do you have the the adapter connected to?

H/W Ver: C1
I live in Ontario

My router is a Bell home hub 2000
I have 802.11n mode
I have tried to download the drivers on the support site but it told me to plug the device in when it was already plugged in and wouldnt proceed. Every other time ive tried to download the drivers again the download wont finish and will give me a network error from chrome.

I have Asus M5A97 R2.0 Motherboard

Removed the adapter and walk thru the removal using remove programs under the control panel. Then reboot the PC and run the installer package from the web site.

Was version of Windows are you using?

Try setting the main host router to WPA2 and AES only and channel 11.
