Try Radio Shack too. I bought 2 of them there, going to get another for my buddy down the street to day I think. If you need power supplies, this this place out:

Have good supplies for different things. I had to get a 5volt, 2amp PS for a NG hub last year. Works great now.

I try to buy as little as possible from a store. With the exception of clothes and furniture. But yea, they are out of stock online too. Its also possible that Motorola told all vendors to pull 6120's and just sell off what they had in stuck because the 6121 is replacing it. BTW, I found out the different between the two.

1.Standby button. Disabled on most revisions.
2.Different case. Its the case of the 6580.
3.High pass filter. To block out ingress which can be caused by MoCA, which is becoming more popular.

Yea, general consensus is its(the 6120) better. The filter is a unknown in how it could effect signal levels. Very very very unlikly it would have any effect, but still a unknown. Also, the case of the 6120 is much better. Which you might not think means anything, but its rather important long term.

Where it gets interesting is the 6180 vs the 6120. 6120 is a 4x4 using 1 tuner on a TI chipset. 6180 is a 8x4 on two tuners, using a Broadcom chipset. I will take TI anyday of the week. I find they run cooler and generally have a longer lifespan.

Sounds like the 6180 could achieve better speeds then? Or have better thru put for more devices online?

As of now? No. No ISP is bonding more then 4 channels outside beta testing. Eventually they will start to, its not going to be something where they flick a switch and all of a sudden your getting 8 channels. Each ISP decides how many channels are needed, or capable of, for each market, or each area, or each node. This wil depend on maxium usage, adverage usages, number of users, distance covered, and capability of the infructure. As you open the channels, your opening the band for possible ingress to leak in, and Its very important that they control that or D3 connectivity issues will be the norm. Already they are the number one complaint for power users on most ISP forums.

So yea, 6180 is a more capable modem, but pointless as of now. Maybe in another year or so.

Well I personally called Netflix and they confirmed it was effecting all streaming (with the exception of people using Tivo, which has a older UI) in the country. In my case, what made it totally freaky is it happened at the climax of Donnie Darko when the timer runs out. ::shiver:: Mad world indeed.

Yeah, I wasn't aware of it, either!  We watched "Below" last night and no issues.  Lovin' the 4500 and Charter cable!   :P

On another subject, did any of you get an online survey from D-Link about what kind of router you may be interested in in the future?  They basically wanted to know how much you'd want to spend on a router (with a high-end limit of $200).

Shoot, after this great router, I'd gladly spend $200 on a high performance one like it!

::Moved from Spammer thread::

Your right. There isn't alot of spam and I shouldn't be upset. I guess its not the lack of ability. but the lack of effort that annoys me. Even if they took just two employees from their phone support, and put them as active moderators, with the help of the active user base they have here, they could handle the volume of 50+ employees. Just from a economical stand point it makes sense. Where I think the lack of understand comes from is that keeping a customer from calling the support line to begin is actually cheaper then handling it quickly. The amount of money spent to maintain the forum is pretty static (minus the minor cost of  bandwidth for a almost entirely text based website), so the more people they have going to it for their answers, the more money they are making.  But in a lot of exec's eyes, call volume is easier to track and rationize to the bottom line. Since they cant see the amount of people who don't call in because of the site, it seems like wasted money to them. I don't know this as fact of course, just reasonable conjecture.
