DWA-645: "Limited connectivity" under WinXP
« on: July 27, 2007, 11:25:25 PM »

Everytime I boot my Notebook I have "limited connectivity" although all settings are correct. After I use the "repair" function everything works ok.

Is there a solution where I do not have to repair manually every time?

Thanks and cheers,

Chris

When you say boot, are you shutting the machine down, or putting it in hibernation?

Everytime I boot my Notebook I have "limited connectivity"

Do you have 802.1x authentication enabled by any chance? Windows got it enabled after one of the security updates. It also gives that "Limited Connectivity" message.

Have a look under Properties of the wireless adapter > Authentication tab. There is an option there "Enable 802.1x Authentication". Un-check it.

The strange thing is, that I have access when I use the "repair" function of windows. What could be the problem?

DLink's "Wireless Connection Manager" is managing my wireless connection - so I don't have this option!

Hi Chris,
I have seen this problem before with the DWL-G122. What fixed my problem was the power management option. Just go the the Network Connection Properties, click on the [Configure...] button next to the "connect using" box and go to the "Power Management" tab; uncheck the following option:

That did it for me!   Good luck!

I have disabled the "Wireless Connection Manager". Now I am using Windows Zero Configuration and everything works fine!
