The gateway is currently measuring your network connection.
« on: September 02, 2011, 10:39:36 AM »

... again and again and again.

Hi Gang,

DIR-825, v2.05 firmware.

When I change a setting and save I get the usual "Please wait 15 seconds" dialog box while the settings are saved.

Then I ALWAY get the "Please wait ... The gateway is currently measuring your network connect. Accessing this web page might have an effect on the measurement. The page will refresh shortly". This lasts about 30 to 45 seconds and it gets annoying quickly.

Why does it perform this check EVERYTIME I do a save? Is there a way to turn it off?

Thanks,
RandyS

What is your ISP upload link speed that you pay for?
Cable or DSL?

Try changing from Automatic uplink to manual.
Set for Cable or DSL.

Hi FurryNutz,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm on a cable modem that gives me 32 Mb down and 1 Mb up. (Wish it was 2 but ...)

So I think I see what you mean. Advanced/QOS Engine, Under WAN Traffic Shaping I unchecked Automatic Uplink Speed and set the Manual Uplink Speed 1024 kps. I saved and did not get the "The gateway is currently measuring your network connection." message.

Sound right? Thanks,
RandyS

Set the manual uplink speed for 2048. You'll be good. What I used when I had 1Mb up. I got 2 now, hehe. Enjoy.
