Title: Slow Transfer Speeds
Post by: ActionFreak on September 23, 2010, 07:00:25 PM
I recently replaced my old Seagate hard drives with 2TB WD20EADS drives. Transfer speeds seem so much slower now. I don't have the numbers from before but now I am getting ~18 MB/s download speed to my PC according to Windows when I download a large file. The system is in a RAID 1 configuration and I am on gigabit Ethernet LAN. Any help would be appreciated.

Your numbers are in line with what most others are seeing. Search posts by gunrunnerjohn. He has posted a few numbers and also comparison with some other brand NAS.

Thanks for the responses. I guess I am just working with larger files and it seems slower.

Is your NAS lower than your computer? Everyone knows data travels slower up hill :)
