dcs -2230 firmware version/1st musings
« on: March 15, 2013, 09:24:12 PM »

My new dcs-2230 came with firmware 1.10.02.

the box says "h/w ver: A1, F/W Ver: 1.10"

The camera is quick and responsive and doesn't appear to get hung up in navigating the settings and making changes, unlike the 5222l... so probably some faster hardware on board?...

PIR detection is buried in "Event Setup"...  unlike 5222L were that is set in Motion Detection.

So it appears that things are a mix between 2132L/5222L/2230 in tracking down options, but resembles the 2132L with the "event setup" option.. 5222L has not been condensed into that option..maybe some day?

I screwed up something in my router tonight... I thought I was pinning my new 2230 to the IP address it gave it, but I some how blocked access to my router 192.168.1.1...it says I changed the port or address.. lol... Reset button time tomorrow...

Will try to connect the 2230 to a hidden SSID... probably will be a failure... we will see...

I would be very interested to know if it now will (as do the 930 & 932) ftp jpgs upon motion detected, into half-hour interval folders, hierarchically named like this:

20130315
    0800
    0830
    ...
20130316
    0830
    0900
    ...

and with jpg filenames similar to Cam1_2013031608062801.jpg

Hey

I haven't set up ftp jpgs.... BUT... with respect to videos:

the dcs-2132L dumps videos into the same folder
the dcs-2230  dumps videos into the same folder
the dcs-5222L dumps videos broken out by hour (upgraded firmware).

I imagine it would be the same for jpgs....

Confirmed, FTP single folder for 2132l/2230..

multi for 5222l (cc 5000).. 5222L SD Card also same way by date/hour folders

Also of Note: 2132L folder is by "video or picture", then "day", then "Hour"...  I have not tested the 2230 SD card structure, but I imagine it will be the same (vid or pic / day/ hour ).
