Hi,
I would like to migrate from a DIR-655 (that works) to a DIR-880L.
With the DIR-880L, I am unable to set up Wake on LAN (WOL) on a local computer from an external computer.
With the DIR-655, I have a Virtual Server setup with these parameters:
192.168.0.255
UDP public port 9 private port 9
The DIR-880L won't allow the 192.168.0.255 broadcast address.
Can you please let me know how I can configure this on the DIR-880L? This is a crucial function that I need and I won't be able to move to the DIR-880L without it.
If there is a URL with parameters that I can Get/POST to to bypass the Javascript error checking, please let me know.
Thank you.

- What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.
- Link>What Firmware (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=47512.0) version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
- What region are you located?
Some WOL articles are located here:

and here:

It's possible that the WoL isn't supported on this model router...
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I have the latest 1.01B09 firmware installed.
I'll contact DLink support and see.
Thank you.

Did you ever get the x.x.x.255 WOL entry working?

Just FYI, the x.x.x.255 address is not supported and is reserved for other networking specifications.

if x.x.x.255 address is "not supported", how do I get Wake-On-Lan working ?

Have you reviewed the linked information regarding WoL?
Uers have found that D-Link routers have been kind of difficult to configure WoL. Some routers don't support WoL. You might contact D-Link support on the phone and ask them about this model router. We are hoping for another FW update. Maybe something they could include in the next update. ::)
