Title: DCS-855L night vision not working.
Post by: simian1986 on August 02, 2017, 05:00:34 AM
Hi, I have purchased a D-Link DCS-855L camera on 21 June 2017. The night vision has just suddenly stopped working as of the 30th of July. I have tried manually switching it between day and night mode. I have also tried turning it off for about a minute and I have also reset the camera. I am still experiencing the same issue. I can see the red infrared lights are on when the room is in darkness. Has anyone else experienced and resolved this issue?

Thanks

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?

Has a factory reset been performed on the camera to see if the NV will work?

Hi,

I am in Ireland and my hardware version is A1. I believe the firmware version is v1.01.03.

I have factory reset the device via the pin hole at the back of the camera. My router is built into my tv box from my ISP.

I don't think it is network related however because I have connected directly to the camera's wifi and experience the same issue. I have also tried connecting via IOS, Android, and Mac OSX.

Thanks

If you switch to night mode, is the image the same as day (color)?  Do you hear clicking noises when switching from day to night?

This sounds like a hardware issue. Possibly the IR mechanism is damaged. I would call tech support in your region.
