If your Laptop is detecting the drive when connected then something on the PC isn't correctly connecting to the DIR or the USB drive...

Your not wrong when the NG isn't detecting the 655 in AP mode since you have applied a static IP address to the 655 and the NG, I presume doesn't need to detect this. It maybe listed on a list of connected devices like D-Link routers do, however it will not appear in the DHCP Dynamic Clients list since the IP address is already assigned statically, and not dynamically.

Clear as mud?  ;D

no no no clear clear!

laptop detect drive when is wired to DIR, I start thinking that the devices that can detect the drive must be connected to DIR and not to NG.... can be?

now I will roll back with the powerline between NG and DIR and laptop wired to DIR

I want to see if NG can assign a IP to laptop

I really appreciate your support!  :D

Well you have it working when you are connected to the 655. So you know thats working. Its somehow failing going in the other direction when your connected to the NG so I presume there is something blocking it maybe on the NG.

Hope you will find out what that is. Good Luck.
