HDD gets remapped and it stores data
« on: August 13, 2012, 01:03:26 PM »

Hello,

I have ran into a different type of problem. My 1TB HDD connected to the Shareport plus of DIr 857 is showing a folder by the name UBS(B1). I never created this folder. The Beauty is when I open the mapped drive, I find the above folder inside the drive folder. Currently the data that I have in my shared drive is only 22 GB and rest is free. When I check the properties of this fldr; it shows app. 600 GB worth of data. If I clicked on this new folder, I find that it remaps itself to the drive folder again and opens another folder with the same name, inside the folder and so on and so forth. It keeps this ON and ON. I am now afraid to delete that folder because it is having 600GB data. I am not sure if this is done by Dlink router or the Western Digital My Passport Elite UBS 2.0/USB 3.0. Is this a virtual drive or folder created by Dlink? Is anyone else having a similar problem? Does anyone knows how to solve this issue, Please help.

What version of SP are you using?
What FW is currently loaded on the router?
What are you using when your browsing these folders? Explorer?
