942L No longer sending images via email (or video)

Picked up one of these a few weeks back and had it set up to send emails of images (originally and later switched to video) on motion detection to my gmail account.

Always got the "send test mail failure" error whenever I hit test, but it still worked for some reason using these settings:

Recipient/user/sender all the same (e.g. name@gmail.com)
Port 587
Trigger on Motion

I recently changed my router, and setup the 942 from scratch.  Now I can't get it to email snapshots or videos regardless of settings.  Have tried Always as well as Motion (as I understand there was/is an issue with motion?).

I have also tried port 465 with SSL-TLS.  Ensured motion detection was turned on and that a box was selected in the grid with a sensitivity of 90%.

I cant think of anything different between now and the previous settings.

Help please, as the camera borders on useless for me without this feature.
