WISHLIST: Please support something other than Java & ActiveX for playback. All major browsers are dropping support for both technologies.

You might check to see if D-Link has changed this already. I know that they have changed to a new plug-in for mydlink.com devices.

I'm running the latest firmware, it still requires either Java or Active X to view. Even the livestreams from the cameras themselves require Java or Active X, as well as some functions like setting motion detection areas.

Well I have a DCS-933L and for the past several months since they came out with the new uplayer plugin for Mac and Windows on the mydlink web site. Thats been working for me. I don't have the DNR unit though so I don't know if this is affected by it or not. The new plug-in was released months ago and works well using a browser. Have you installed this plug-in?

I do not use the mydlink website and instead hit the cameras and recorder directly. The DNR-202L has to be used directly afaik.

Not sure if any of this will help:
mydlink.com and Java Application FAQ

What browser are you using?

I'm not having a problem, Java works (for now). All of the browsers will drop support for Java soon, so that's why I ask for alternate methods (e.g. HTML5) to be supported in a future firmware.

Im sure D-link is working on a different solution. At this time, a universal plug in is being used for mydlink.com supported devices.

If you have any further questions, you might phone contact them and ask them about this. Let us know if you find out anything.

My wish is that the DNR-202L would have some indication in the e-mail Subject line what caused an "Event Notification". I typically have two types of event showing up in email, camera loss or motion. If the email Subject line could be something like "Event Notification - Camera Loss" or "Event Notification - Motion" it would be quite helpful.

I'm setting up event notification schedules to test out Recording on Event timeframes. The timeframes are not necessarily contiguous so I would like to see when recording took place. I had this set up for this evening and got a gazillion emails for both Camera Loss and Motion.  I had to open each email to find out what caused the event and at what times.

For this instance my wish is somewhat petty but if I had cameras covering my family at home, my house while we're away, a warehouse full of merchandise, etc. I would want to know ASAP what is going on.

Does this not fix your issue?
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=63486.msg259519#msg259519

Doing so would put me at risk using Java at all. I'm sure it will work, but I'm not willing to do that. D-Link needs to fix it.

I totally and unequivocally agree with the last sentence  D-Link needs to fix it.

That said the more that contact D Link via facebook, via contact on the support page of mydlink or via phone calls the quicker I believe D Link will action.

I prefer facebook because D Link cannot hide whereas other forms it's basically one on one (if you understand me)

This issue is two fold. D-Link is aware of the Java issue and is working on getting it fixed.  Also Java mfr is also included in this so they also need to update there software as well.

I also noticed a Java update this morning. Not sure if this has any fixes or not.

Please be patient.

I've had my NVR and webcams for awhile and glad you have this wishlist post area.

The only item I would like to see for this is ..

1) I only have one network right now so I end up unplugging the NVR when  I don't want to use it because during it's operation there is alot of
    wireless traffic with the cameras.
I "wish" there was an ability for having on the NVR (either on the app or via the web browser admin page)  a way to turn off the activity with the
cameras.    As a bonus -- if there was a way to schedule / turn this on or off .. that would be amazing.

I love the NVR and cams other than this one item.     I thought about setting up a separate wireless network for them.. but that would entail
added expense that I cannot do.    It works find other than this one item.   I can help alpha or beta test if needed.
Maybe have this as my wish for 2016!
