Traffic Shaping for a Specific Website
« on: July 24, 2018, 09:18:45 PM »

I've bought D-link DIR-615 Wifi Router Hardware version:T1 Firmware ver:20.18

I want control the speed of a specific website, like youtube.com, for some connected users... I'm able to do the speed control but that speed control is assigned to all of connected users rather than the one I mentioned in the settings.. I've also done the IP reservation so the IPs remain static.. Please Help..  :) :)

Thanks in advance....   ;D ;D ;D

D-Link routers only control the bandwidth of devices by priority. Unfortunately, this router can't control it by a certain web site.

The problem for which I posted is solved just a couple of hours later. I could control /limit speed for a ftp server for a specific device connected to the router. Typically, that device used to get 5MBytes/s, now after reshaping the bandwidth i'm able to render only 250KBytes/s..

The settings i added was in the traffic shaping option... I has the option of Source ip and destination IP for which i want to control bandwith..  The speed that is controlled is only for that specific device and for a specific website... Now as the problem is solved i'd like to share it with others who also want to employ such settings..

Kewl, thanks for posting. Hope this helps users with this model router. This may not be usable on newer generation routers.

Enjoy.  ;)
