Title: DCS-825L Web Pages: config and remote view
Post by: francorg on January 28, 2014, 02:31:46 AM
I found the following configuration web pages on my DCS-825L.
To access them you have to use:
user = admin
password = the password of your webcam, usually configured during first time setup wizard

1. http://ip_address/eng/liveView.cgi or http://ip_address/eng/mainFrame.cgi
Here you can access the typical DLink web config page with several sections:
- a liveview page which requires the CamCliCtrl (InstallCamCliCtrl.msi) which is missing and I couldn't find a way to make it working (tried on IE10 and Chrome 33)
- a setup page where you can config the wireless lan setup and also access to the SD storage
- a maintenance page where to upgrade the firmware
- a status page with the typical info (ip address, mac address, etc.)
- a help page containing some disclaimers

2. http://ip_address/eng/admin/
here you can access two configs:
- internet connection wizard or manual setup
- motion detection wizard or manual setup this one doesn't work as I cannot enable the CamCliCtrl plugin, as explained in point 1. above

3. http://ip_address/image/jpeg.cgi
here you get a screenshot of the actual webcam view

4. http://ip_address/video/mjpg.cgi
here you get a live stream of your webcam. To access I use VLC player, by opening a Network Stream and putting in the url above.

I succeeded also in forwarding a port on my firewall in order to have direct access to the url above also when I am not at home by pointing to the public ip address of my home internet connection.

I think that every URL above it's also accessible through https protocol on standard port 443.

For the moment this is all I discovered.
If you have further info please contribute to this post.

Very nice ! The mainFrame.cgi seems to be the usual DLink Web interface but it is missing some of the settings that are available in the other screens. Hopefully this is because they are working on integrating them and it will be announced in a later firmware ?

Thanks Francorg, I'm experiencing the same issue with the NCS plugin in all browsers.. Hope a future firmware release might fix it.

Some additional useful URLs:
5. rtsp://admin:passwd@ipaddr:554/play1.sdp ~ 720p 25fps
6. rtsp://admin:passwd@ipaddr:554/play2.sdp ~ 360p 10fps
7. rtsp://admin:passwd@ipaddr:554/play3.sdp ~ 360p 10fps
These are available to view an ffMPEG live stream with audio using RTSP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_Streaming_Protocol) (H.264/MPEG4 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H.264/MPEG-4_AVC) encoding).
Achieved successful playback of these streams over TCP or UDP using various methods:

Advanced URLs:
8. http://ipaddr/cgi/admin/tools_admin.cgi
Returns XML of config settings (incl. your admin password in plaintext!) - seems there will be scope to enable multiple users in future.

9. http://ipaddr/cgi/admin/telnetd.cgi?command=on
Does anyone know the login/password to login to the Linux Telnet console (e.g. using PuTTY (http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/)) after running this command in your browser?

Hi guys, I just bought a 933L and 825L.
I made some experiment with 825L.
I'm using IP Cam for live view and searching with it the 825L is founded like DCS 1130.
In this 3d http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50579.0 I test the DCS 1130 emulator looking the url.
for example:
http://support.dlink.com/emulators/dcs1130/recorder.html
In my network i change with the ip address and html with cgi and it works:
ipaddr/recorder.cgi

fod ddns adv_ddns.html became ipaddr/adv_ddns.cgi

I hope that can help.

Bye

(sorry for my english)

A couple more pages I have found:

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/support_tools.cgi
- List of possible settings and what they mean? No selectable settings though..

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/tools_admin.cgi - Change admiin password, add user accounts, authentication, device settings (on screen display, turn led on, off, flicker?)

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/tools_system.cgi
- Time configuration, automatic time configuration, set time manually. (Note this is what set me down this path of looking for pages as my time was always incorrect no matter if I selected synchronize in the app. Thie issue was because the setting in here was setting the time to automatically use a dlink server?!) Unchecked automatic synch, selected my timezione, and clicked save and it took about a minute for the settings to be saved to my camera... it works!

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/st_log.cgi - xml info? under construction?

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/adv_lan.cgi
- Port Settings, Port Forwarding

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/adv_wireless.cgi
- Enable AP Client?

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/adv_image.cgi
- Shows a live video stream with image settings!

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/adv_snapshot_cont.cgi
- Snapshot (email snapshots on motion detection?)

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/tools_default.cgi - save to local hard drive, factory reset, reboot

Hi everybody!

One more page I have found:

http://ipaddr/eng/admin/adv_record.cgi

Why D-link doesn't make a single page for the configuration of this camera, aka "http://ipaddr".
And the iPhone/iPad app is so slughish, D-link needs to redesign this ios app.
Funny is, i just love this camera, and i use it for monitoring my cats! But it needs more and more improvements.....

Hi! Everybody...
I corrected my last post!
I still can't upload musics to the SD card? Even using the http://ipaddr/eng/admin/support_men.cgi
I never see a option to upload musics to the SD.
Someone help me!
Thanks...

It doesn't work on mine with the latest firmware.
Does it work for you? Can you send a dir command and retrieve all the cgi file names?

Hi Roberto,
I haven't upgraded to the newer firmware just yet.
Here is what I get when I request 'help' with telnet.

BusyBox v1.20.2 (2013-09-24 23:39:31 MAGT) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

p.s ( I can't use the botons #1....#5, to play the uploaded musics, they have to be .mp3, but is there a max bit rate?)

Upload the files on the audio player page and when you go to the music player page select SD card music and save, this will now be the default music when you press the music note on the camera.
Alternatly you can play the individual files once you have uploaded them on the audio player page.
As for the MP3 files it gives a warning if the file has space's in and I have been using high quality MP3's 320kbps.

Still no sucess.
First i upload with sucess my musics.
Then, the problem, on the "music player" page i save the "sd card" option (to use my musics on the SD), and then when i go to the "audio player" page there are only 5 music listed and when i press the play button, i listen to the lulaby music.
More curious is, on that same page, if i press the "01.mp3" music, it tryes to download, and indeed that's the music i uploaded, not the lulaby.
Then when i return to the "music player" page it's not the "sd card" selected but the "system music" selected, so this page is not saving properly. Oh well i will wait for the next firmware (i am using the most recente), maybe ti's fixed. sorry for my bad English.

I just did a recursive directory listing using telnet on the camera (1.03) to fetch all files. I have created a more complete list of files that can be executed with a browser. Hopefully there is something useful here that hasn't been noticed yet. Here's a link:

http://veerman.ca/other/dlink/ (http://veerman.ca/other/dlink/)

Edit: I made a simple script that takes your IP and will auto-generate links for faster testing.

In network settings you might have forgotten to manually define a DNS server and because of this the camera can't resolve the hostname to the IP address. Do that and it will work again. Good luck.

I am having similar issues to you but slightly different.  I can upload a mp3 file and it does go into the music folder on the sd card.  I have used short file names i.e. 06.mp3, 07.mp3.  If I use 05.mp3 I get the same issue as you had in that download of the file from ipaddr/eng/admin/audio_player.cgi gives me the one I uploaded but play gives me the original melody!  Odd but it looks like the download url is always music/xx.mp3 so it picks the file from the sdcard folder rather than the built in file.

If I use this page
ipaddr/eng/admin/music_button.cgi?folderpath=&command=1&getSystemMusic=1&filesPerPage=5 and click on the SDCard music/ link I can pick a single track from the sd card to play when I press the music button on the camera itself.  This works at least.    If I go to ipaddr/music/sdcard_play.cgi I can force the play of the track assigned to the button from the browser as if I had pressed the physical button on the device.

If I modify the audio player url to
ipaddr/eng/admin/audio_player.cgi?folderpath=music&command=video&getSystemMusic=0&filesPerPage=5
I can see the files that I want to be able to play in the player screen but the play button does not work (delete does though).  It looks like the javascript is not fully in place yet to cope with the folder structure.  The function doThings(type, value) gets passed the action i.e. play and the filename but no folder name.

      case 'play':
         //alert("play music = "+value);
         command = "play";
         $("#folderName").val(value);
         //folderpath = value;//need change
         break;

sorry not fully conversant with javascript so can't get any further with this but looks like developers have put a remark in to say they need to do something to be able to cope with folders (possibly?).

Many thanks for all information provided.. but I still need help to make the player works with SDCard music.

I already tired all the options described but without success. Basically, I can see the mp3 file (e.g 07.mp3) but  no able to play.

Appreciate if somebody could provide more details about how make it works.

@gvascon1

Can you try to play your music through this screen:

http://ip_addr/eng/mainFrame_debug.cgi?nav=Setup#

Go there and check the Music Button menu item

I'm on the latest firmware and it works through this menu.  I had to click Music/ next to SD Card.  From there I was displayed a list of my .mp3s. I clicked save settings, and now my mp3s play and not the default lullabies.

In the setup I tried all kinds of settings (syncing and manually) but it seems that the time setting is erased when you put the camera off.

What FW version is currently loaded?

What region are you located?

Every time I put the camera off and back on again the time had been reset.
In the setup I tried all kinds of settings (syncing and manually) but it seems that the time setting is erased when you put the camera off.
Pretty annoying...

I have the latest (1.04) Firmware installed.
I'm located in The Netherlands (of course I've set the right TimeZone).

Because of you questions I presume that the problem I have is not normal...

You might want to try a manual re-load of the FW using a LAN wired connection only. Do a factory reset, load the FW .bin file you downloaded using IE or FF Only, Do one more factory reset then set up from scratch.

Let us know if the settings are saved after a power cycle...

Hi! Everybody...
I corrected my last post!
I still can't upload musics to the SD card? Even using the http://ipaddr/eng/admin/support_men.cgi
I never see a option to upload musics to the SD.
Someone help me!
Thanks...

Hi all,

To upload music to the SD you need to umonunt the SD first and create a folder called "music" in the SD card (with a computer) and then put at most 5 MP3 named 1.mp3 to 5.mp3

Found the instructions on: ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/PRODUCTS/DCS-825L/REVA/DCS-825L_MP3_LULLABY_INSTALLATION_INSTRUCTIONS.PDF

Hope it helps! Thanks for all the other links! :)

I Have the same problem, when I turn off the babycam and then turn on the date & time are reset (I have this issue with FW ver 1, 2 and 4)

You said "re-load of the FW using a LAN wired connection only"; but how can I do it?; the baby cam DSC-825L haven't an Ethernet connection, only have Wifi.

Therefore I try to reload FW many times, and always date/time are reset.

Any other solution?

Thanks

If this still fails and the problem still continues, then I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. You may need to ask for an RMA. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

hi FurryNutz

here after some power cycling the camera, they lost some of the setting! (Time, ...)
but not the main settings like Network.

Solution for me, I restore my settings.db then are all OK!

Looks like a good work around. You may want to contact your regional D-Link support office and ask about this. Time should be accurate even upon a reboot or power cycle. Ensure you have NTP services selected and enabled for Time. This will help the unit keep accurate time values.

Just updated to firmware v1.06.06 as suggested by the prompt of the baby monitor iPhone app.
It seems that the liveView_debug.cgi doesn't exist anymore. It still exist liveView.cgi but it has just few options to configure.

Is anyone able to access the root folder of a v1.06 camera and check if then renamed/moved the liveView_debug.cgi file?

Thank you,
Roberto

New Features
V1.06.06
1.Update mydlink agent to v2.0.19-b33
2.Add Bonjour_dcamera service and remove Bonjour _http service
3.Support UTF-8 Unicode format for SD card music playback
4.Redefine the recording file naming rule for multi-event recording feature and modify the related NIPCA sdcard_list and recorder CGI

I was saying that I successfully downgraded to v1.05 but the "advanced" cgi pages were still missing after the downgrade to v1.05.

If someone else tries to downgrade please let me know if you get back those "advanced" cgi pages.

hi

in fw 1.05 and 1.06 this are removed ... so I dont find a way,
also I use the fw1.03 and see no reason for the last firmware to use, if somebody like to use the hidden menues, only with old fw!

its writen under 3. (it is removed)
V1.05.04
1.   Fixed the incorrect thermal LED status after reboot.
2.   Change the default system time for year 2015.
3.   Remove the hidden webpage for security concerns.

Why did you chose v1.03 and not v1.04?

Hi,

Any chance of advanced config with firmware 1.08?
Need to change the settings of the recording. Now only very short recordings although there is movement all the time.
On the old cgi pages you could change the size/lenght of recordings.

Thnx in advance!

Something you might ask D-Link phone support about. I presume since the 825L is getting long in the pants that no new feature maybe added to the FW...
