I have the same problem! I have now downloaded this upgrade 3 times. Carefully unzipped it (even ran up an old XP computer just in case) still unable to upgrade. My box clearly says HW ver B1 FW Ver 1 so think I am doing the right things. Any suggestions gratefully received. I have a second box (The cloud version just bought from Ebuyer) which upgraded with Rev A firmware first time so I am doing things right I think.
Many thanks for any suggestions although what they might be I don't know unless the download is in some way corrupted? THe download does seem very, very slow.

I have the same issue:
DNS-320
HW ver B2
FW ver 1.00
I've downloaded the latest firmware update from numerous different D-Link websites (all of them ridiculously and painfully slow).
Unzipped the file (to my laptop which is hardwired onto the network) - then the FW file has an extension of "file" (which immediately does not seem correct).
Regardless i browse to the fw file to update the FW and the "Apply" button remains greyed out.
I have tried changing the FW file to have ".bin" extension on the end but the "Apply" button remains greyed out.
I've renamed the file to "dlink.bin" to cut down on the amount of "." in the filename but again the "Apply button remains greyed out. I don't know what other file extensions I could try.
I'm at a loss and don't understand where the problem is but things are just not this difficult with Synology of which i have set many of them up - i guess you get what you pay for.
I hope there is a solution to this.

Also tried the following file extensions:
.tar
.img
.cfg
still greyed out

I've used the link from http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/ (http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/) , other thing the Wr/Rd Speed didn't change on the 10/100 network (Wr:10 Mo/s, Rd:15 Mo/s) it's an other thing when connected thrue Gigabit (Wr:30 Mo/s, Rd:35 Mo/s) direct link to the PC (no swith, or router...)

I've used the link from http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/ (http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/). . .
Thank you for validating the link! I wanted to validate that the FW file was working for other DNS-320 hardware rev B owners who posted on this thread reporting issues performing the FW update.

HI just downloaded the firmware file for my DNS-320 Rev B1 and after selecting the file the Apply button is greyed out? Any ideas on this one ?
Edit: Ok got it working, was using Chrome on first attempt.
If you have the Greyed out Apply button Use Internet Explorer, this seems to of worked for me!
Edit2: Ok i have now updated and a message come up about Volume Merging and i clicked OK not sure if i should of as the drives in the NAS are not RAID'd but now in the System Status Hard Drive Info area it shows No Volume Found. any idea to get this back to showing the volumes.
Edit3: Right went to the same page within Internet Explorer and it shows the information correctly so it would see that Google Chrome as compatibilty issues with the WebGUI

As a general rule, when performing critical functions on the DNS-320 such as uploading firmware, you should try to use IE (first choice) or Firefox.

Hi everybody,
As I'm testing the FW v.1.01.b03, I've found that :
1. the USB is working in the two sens, means that it can read but also write on the USB media plugged in (Mine is in NTFS).
2. The P2P option supports the bandwidth limitation.
That's all for now,

Hello everyone, I'm new, and Italian, so sorry for my bad English.
Thanks to your site I was able to upgrade the device firmware to version 1.01.
To upgrade to version 1.02 as I do?
And 'possible?
I can not register to mydlink and I think it's due to the fact that the nas has not installed the firmware 1:02.
In fact I have already 'got to install this nas, but already' firmware 1:02 installed, that 'a rev A3, and software installation gave me the chance' to join the mydlink website.
I hope I explained myself and that I can help.
Thank you in advance and we will do it again congratulations for the content very interesting and useful site.
Ciao a tutti

The mydlink service does not support the DNS-320. Only D-Link Cloud devices can use mydlink and are identifiable as having an "L" at the end of the product name (e.g. DNS-320L or DCS-932L).

Using a web browser, log into the DNS-320 web UI and navigate to Management > System Management > Firmware Upgrade. This page will display the currently installed firmware version.

thank you very much for the response. My version was 1.01 and I tried to install 1.01b2. Is this the same?

Quite possibly. Unfortunately, the ShareCenter FW does not display the build version. The only indicator you have to go by is the firmware date displayed on the same page. As far as I have seen, there is only one iteration of firmware version 1.01 available, but could be wrong if your device was factory installed with another build. :-\

no, it had 1.0 version when I bought it, so I upgraded two weeks ago to 1.01

In that case I'd say the versions are the same. ;)

Hi
My 320V2 had firmware version 1.00 when I bought it.
When I was first looking to upgrade my 320v2. I found a number of FW versions on the Dlink website. I downloaded v1.01b02
v1.02b07 (LINK_DNS320L(LW).1.02b07(3.07.0329.2013)(BETA).zip)
V1.03b04
I first tried to upgrade with the 1.03xx, but that did not work, the [Apply] button remained greyed out. I used both FF and Chrome got the same result.
I decided to upgrade to 1.01xx instead of 1.02xx and that was successful. There has bee no issues with the unit I have access to all my files, and everything looks OK.
I cannot say whether there has been any improvement, as I upgraded within 5 days of purchasing the unit and configuring it. I will run it with this firmware for a few weeks before the next upgrade.
As my upgrade worked going from 1.00xx to 1.01xx. Should the FW upgrade be done in sequence for it to work. On my next upgrade I will skip 1.02xx and go to 1.03xx to test that it works or not.
Q. have anyone upgrade the unit successfully from 1.00 to (1.02 or 1.03).?

What hardware version do you have? This thread refers to Hardware version "B" which has a different set of firmware files from version "A". Please see the following thread: DNS ShareCenter - What Hardware Version is My ShareCenter? (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=50576.0)

Sorry mine is HardWare Version 'B2

To the best of my knowledge, firmware version v1.01b02 is the latest release for that hardware version, so you are already using the latest available version.
-
Does that mean the firmware ver1.02b07 and 1.03b04 is not for the revision B2 hardware

My DNS320B2 loses its network connection when copying larger files via cifs ( windows 7 ) to it's hdd. The transfer just stops. And the DNS320 freezes. I'am not able to connect to it until i pull the power plug and cold start it. I already pull my hair. Large means above 8 gigs.
I split this topic off in a new post: DNS-320 Rev B - Copying Large Files from PC fails (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=59311.0)

Upgraded DNS-320 Version B2 from Firmware 1.00 to 1.01. Copied one file of 2 GB from DNS-320 to Notebook with 60,3 MB/s. Copied same file from notebook to DNS-320 with 43,9 MB/s.
Use TP-Link TL-SG105 5-port Metal Gigabit Switch and Cat7 lan cable 10m.
Webmanagement with IE 11 is excellent now.
Even the "right-click-options" have been improved.

Hello everybody,
I'm having trouble upgrading my dns320 hw:B2 firmware 1.0 . The apply button from the web interface is greyed out.
I tried upgrading from IE in win XP,7,8, chrome, firefox ...with same results, button greyed out.
I also tried upgrading to 1.01b02ww then to 1.02ww from http://tsd.dlink.com.tw/downloads2008detail.asp
I just cannot click de apply button.
Any suggestion?
PS: i wondering if i can upgrade from telnet with putty.
Anybody has the commands?
-
Nevermind, got it working ...turns out you have to have a valid volume, because the firmware file copies itself to the hdd volume, and flashes from there...
BTW version 1.02 from 23.04.2014 out ...
