What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem do you have? Stand Alone or built in router?
What ISP Modem make and model do you have?

Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual?
Turn off QoS options.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router under Setup/Networking.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

Should be able to just connect the PCs wired and get internet.
Ensure cable between modem and router is good. Swap it out.
Sometimes the cables that come with modems and routers isn't the best.
CAT6 or 5e is preferred.

no, need to make sure the 2nd PC is not getting a conflicting IP address.
Why when you go into the router, set up reserved IP addresses for each PC.
Make sure the PCs are set up auto obtain IP addressing. Go from there.

I would turn off the 1st PC and then turn on the 2nd. After it's online, make sure it's setup for Auto Obtain.
Go into the routers Setup/Networking and find the 2nd PC under the Dynamic DHCP clients section. It should be listed there, along maybe with others and the 1st PC. You'll need to verify the Host name and Mac addresses to make sure your working with the right NIC on the 2nd PC. Once you verify that the 2nd PCs Mac address is correctly identified, look for it and then find the Reserve work link on that row for the 2nd PC. Select it and this will auto fill in the Add reservation section above. Change the Ip address to something else, one up or one number down. Give it a name so you know which one it is. Select save. Bring up your 1st pc and make sure you know which one your working with under the Dynamic DHCP Clients list. Select reserve like you did before. This time you can just give it a name and select ADD the reservation for the 1st PC.

Doing this will ensure each pc has it's own IP address that never changes or conflicts.

Hi george crooks,

Did you configured the Network and Sharing Center on both Windows 7 Computers? One can prevent the other from connecting to the Internet.
