Title: A few questions
Post by: Malechai on July 04, 2017, 05:31:30 PM
Is this router model super new?  I'm interested in it because its on sale at Best Buy right now but I can find absolutely no information for it on the internet other than from D-Link themselves.  Is there any reviews out there that anyone has found?

Also, is the description for this forum model accurate?  On the product page here: http://ca.dlink.com/products/connect/dir-882-ac2600-high-power-wi-fi-gigabit-router/
It calls it a "AC2600 High Power Wi-Fi Gigabit Router"

however the description on this forum says "Wireless AC1200 Dual Band Router w/ High-Gain Antennas"

Am I in the right spot?

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)

I see it's not on the main USA D-Link site as of yet.

I presume it maybe forth coming soon. I'll ask D-Link about it.

If it's on sale and it's from a place with a good refund policy, might pick it up.

Ha, yes, I guess it hit Canada first. I remember the Admin saying something as I saw this model on the main site in a picture on the home page and asked about it.

It is a new router. Should be available in the US within the next month.

Here is the info on the Canadian site - http://ca.dlink.com/products/connect/dir-882-ac2600-high-power-wi-fi-gigabit-router/ (http://ca.dlink.com/products/connect/dir-882-ac2600-high-power-wi-fi-gigabit-router/)

The forum description is incorrect (oops). It is fixed now.

OK, let us know if you see it again. Time out on the UI is automatic however I believe should be a minute or two if nothing is clicked on in the UI.

The only thing that remains now is that my Sony Bravia KDL-60W630B seems to have a problem with the 5Ghz band.  Not sure if its a compatibility thing with this specific router or issue with the tv itself as I've never had a router with 5Ghz before.    All of my other devices connect to it rock solid but the TV either doesn't see the network OR if it does and connects, disconnects shortly thereafter and I need to manually reconnect.

I've connected it via 2.4 for now for stability.

(tv is in an adjacent room from the router. 1 wall of drywall between.  Maybe 20-25 feet apart from each other

How do you have the wireless configured on the router? Is Smart Connect enabled?

Disable Smart Connect and go it and configure the 5Ghz radio for single mode N, Manual channel 48, NO WPA security, use OPEN temporarily, Auto channel width. Have the TV attempt to connect to the 5Ghz radio with this configuration. Does the TV connect then and remain connected?

After testing, configure the 5Ghz radio for WPA2 and AES only and test again with the TV connected to the 5Ghz radio, does it connect and remain connected?
