firmware update leads to webgui "file not found"
« on: October 10, 2017, 01:46:23 PM »

Hello, I recently purchased a dlink dcs5020l, and I compiled the firmware following the instructions given, the compile process went fine, and after the update the webgui could not be accessed after updating. So, I went the "emergency room" of updating firmware to older version, but it seems when I click "update firmware" it doesn't respond, just loops "connecting" and "waiting for 192.168.0.20" then it resets the connection later..

Is there any other way to recover this?

Guys I am sorry, I cannot delete this thread, but I realized my firewall on my laptop (debian) was preventing the file upload, possibly the webgui too. But I am still reverting to another firmware regardless.

Solved.

Quick update,  since I am able to revert back to official firmware,  is there a way I can preserve the webpage files and include them into the compiled firmware? For some reason it breaks the webpage,  the web gui you use to log in.  I can still use /image/jpeg.cgi, and get a snapshot.

Not sure if that can be done...compiling FW isn't a end user kind of thing.  ::)

I figured it out, was as easy as I was hoping.  ;D

edit; I didn't mean I flashed openwrt on the camera, I was talking about my tp-link routers, and what not. No, camera still has oem/compiled firmware.

Ah, something you might ask TP-Link...
