Author Topic: Why doesn't this 5222L camera show up on MYDLINK app for Android and iPad ?  (Read 7362 times)

Just realized I purchased a new 5222L six months ago.   Found it today and set it up (Hardware A) and upgraded the firmware.

Much to my surprise, all my d-link cameras show up on BOTH my Android and iPad, but this 5222L does NOT show up on either device.    It can be viewed using a browser at mydlink.com after that special plug-in (CamCliCtrl ) is installed.

1.  Why doesn't this camera display on my iPad ?

2.  What can be done to correct this ?

3.  Why doesn't this camera show up on my Android ?

4.  What can be done to correct this ?

5.  Why did this camera require the CamCliCtrl whereas my 932 and two other models do not ?

This camera will be almost useless if I must only use a web browser to view it.

Thank you.

Can you pan and tilt the other cameras? Guess not.

Does it show up in Android on local camera search?

My other d-link cameras are not designed to pan or tilt., such as the 932L.  The 5222L shows up on the iP{ad and Android but with a red X while it is accessible only through mydlink.com (web browser).

I'm sure this is something you've already checked, but are you 100% sure you're signing into the same mydlink account on the mobile apps vs. desktop mydlink?

Absolutely certain.  Furthermore, when I enter the fixed IP of the camera into my browser, whether it be Mac or PC, I see the LIVE VIEW  fine and the pan and tilt functions work.

All my other non-pan non-tilt also show up.

Yes, the correct account.

Maybe that's why you need camclictrl installed to run.

Are you saying that you log into mydlink.com on your PC and the cameras work or are you only referring to direct IP address using your PC?

Your router is probably blocking external access.

Using the IP address in a browser yields a picture, but it was a no-go on my d-link app on both Android and iPad, and a red X on mydlink.com using a Mac or a Win7 PC.

Good thought, but no.

It most definitely works with both iOS and Android. I think  you have some sort of user error and botched the install.
