Title: DCS- 936L SD card formatting complications and unit over heating
Post by: laura@pier101.ca on April 26, 2018, 02:26:44 PM
This is my fifth D-Link  camera. I have been generally pleased with them...two wore out...but I expect that of consumer electronics these days.
I bought this new 936L last week.
I have spent over 4 hours over the past 4 days trying to get this camera to work.
I spent 40 minutes talking to tech yesterday with no resolution.
I bought a second micro memory card.
I was about to replace the new card I insterted yesterday,
but the camera was too hot to hold.
Clearly there is a serious issue with this camera.
This is my 5th D link camera.
Two which were recording versions, I bought 4 years ago...each lasted 18 months.

This camera is less than 1 week old...I"M VERY FRUSTRATED!!!!!
Retailer won't accept unsealed box back...go to manufacturer...

Their answer is to spend another hour filling out documents, arranging to send unit back to them and wait for a replacement ?!?!
Why would I want another one of these?
The design of the stand is useless as well...
I expected a learning curve as electronics always seem to need upgrades and manipulations but this is ridiculous....

Where did you buy the camera from that they would not return it after 1 week?   I assume you called D-Link Canada's support? They should be able to RMA it for you but as most companies you have to send the camera before they send you a replacement. Ask if they do cross-shipment.
