Cannot setup new NVR, it is on different network subnet?
« on: May 26, 2016, 06:53:11 PM »

I just got the 202L NVR and I'm trying to set it up. When I use the installer wizard, it fails at the "Timezone settings" screen with the error: Check network failed.

Infact, I don't even see the NVR in my router "devices connected" page.

According to the installer wizard, it appears that the NVR is on 192.168.100.1 but my router network is 192.168.1.1. How do I fix this?

Internet Service Provider and Modem Configurations
  • What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
  • What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

What Mfr and model# is the main host router?
Is the DNR directly connect to the main host router that your PC is connected to?  PC and DNR should be connected to same router to get the DNR set up.

I have Cable (Comcast), don't know what modem. My Netgear R7000 is connected to it and then the NVR is connected to the R7000. My PC (and all my devices) are connected to the R7000.

Because everything is connected to the R7000 and it's the DHCP, I don't know how the NVR got a 192.168.100.x address.

So I presume the R7000 is handing out 192.168.1.# addresses?

Try a factory reset on the DNR while it's connected to the router, it should get a 192.168.1.something address from the R7000 router.
