DSP-W110 will not used schedule on/off
« on: June 30, 2018, 12:01:12 PM »

I've had 2 DSP-W110 plugs for at least two years with no problems.   Recently the both DSP-W110 stopped responding to the scheduled on/off times.   I can still go on my iphone and manually turn the lights on/off.   Not sure why it is not using my scheduled times.   Looks like i have firmware version 2.04.   Any thoughts?

I have seen a few customers with this issue. I will pass it on to a tech to investigate.

I am having the exact same problem for the last 2 weeks.  I have 3 DSP-W110, 2 in the barn to control fans for the horses, 1 in the house.  There was a power outage and internet outage due to a storm.  Since then the schedules do not work correctly.  If I unplug the switches, plug them back in, they may work for one cycle.  I have tried changing the schedules, deleting and recreating the schedules, even reset one switch, to no avail.  I can control the switches via the app.  This is frustrating.  I like these switches but may have to switch brands.

D-Link is aware of the issue and is working on a fix.

I am having the same problem with my (2) DSP-W110 units.
Is there an update on when this will be fixed and what I we need to do to get the fix?
These worked fine up until about a week ago and now I can't trust them to be reliable.
If the issue is not resolved quickly I will have to switch to another manufactures devices.

What hardware revisions are you using (A or B)?

What firmware version?

We are experiencing the same issue. Started about two weeks ago. We purchased 4 plugs about 3 years ago. Two are used sporadically (Christmas lights), one is used daily (lamp) and one is still unopened. Tried reset and then grabbed one of the infrequently used plugs. That worked for a few days - then it no longer turned on/off as programmed. I am now using IFTTT applets to turn the lamp on and off. Seems to work fine. You can program any of your plugs through IFTTT. You will first need to link your IFTTT account with your Mydlink Home account. You will need to create one applet for every "action" to be taken. For help creating applets use google to find out "how to create IFTTT applet." We are currently using the date and time service to trigger the D-Link Smart Plug service. Little disappointed to have to jump through these hoops. But happy that this has just been a minor inconvenience so far.

My switches are on version 2.04.  They all are B hardware.

I have the same problem as the others... I have 19 DSP-W110 units and they have all been slowly dropping their programs over the last 2-3 weeks... Now they finally all don't respond to programs.

I have a mix of Version A and B's.  The version A's are running v1.22 firmware and the version B's are running v2.04 firmware.

Same problem here. Complete disaster. A whole apartment building isn't getting hot water because the pump won't cycle. Now I have to toss the smart outlet and find a simple reliable mechanical timer.

I also have a dsp215 which works perfectly.

I have BETA firmware for revision A.

THiS IS UNTESTED SO USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

ftp://FTP2.DLINK.COM/PRODUCTS/DSP-W110/REVA/DSP-W110A2_FW123B02_BETA.bin

1.Hold reset button and then power on the DSP and wait for 10 seconds then release reset button.

2.Connect wirelessly to your DSP SSID. ex: DSP-W110-xxxx

3.Open browser and go to http://192.168.0.60

4.Upload the bin file.

Please let me know how this works for you if you decide to give it a try. Try on 1 device for a day or 2 before testing on your other units.

I would test but unfortunately I'm out of town until August.

Two quick questions:

Would I be connecting wirelessly to the unit through the D-Link mydlink Home app?

Is the assumption that the unit is going to get assigned an IP of 192.168.0.60?  What is the process if the unit is assigned another IP from the router?

Thanks for your help.  :-)

Sorry I wasn't clear. You will need a wireless computer (to download the bin file and use a web browser). When the W110 is in crash recovery, it emits its own wifi signal that you can connect to and its IP address to 192.168.0.60 (it will not connect to your router/DHCP is disabled). The WIFi name (SSID) and password are printed on the label on the W110.

You will need to statically assign your computer to 192.168.0.61 /255.255.255.0. Once this process is complete change your settings back.

This is by design for crash recovery. Once a firmware is loaded, it turns off and goes back to normal (ie connect with the mydlink Home app and wifi to your router).

Hopefully the issue will be fixed before August.

It has been almost 3 weeks since my W110 smart plugs have stopped responding to the schedules I've set. Unable to use the schedule feature makes them almost worthless. When will this be fixed.  Does the smart plug communicate with a D-Link server in order to activate the scheduling feature? Is that why the smart plug stopped responding to schedules?  My plugs worked perfectly for over a year then suddenly they stop working. Why?
