I just bought a DCS-2630L and am very pleased with it so far. I noticed that there are a couple limitations that is making it difficult to use effectively.
In "video clips", you can have it upload or email a video to you when an event has occurred such as movement or sound. Unfortunately, it only lets you record up to 10 seconds of video at a time. What's worse is that it will only start recording again AFTER a minimum of 10 seconds have elapsed after previous recording stopped.

So I only get up to 10 seconds of video (if you don't count the prerecording time) every 20 seconds.
If I'm using this as a home security product, I'm losing important video clips, especially when I need it most (i.e. when it detected movement).
Please tell me there is a way to increase the recording time or decrease the time between video clips? If not, will this feature be added in the future? This is quite a deal breaker for obvious reasons.

this is one feature that sort of sucks. You can take longer video on an SD card but not using FTP. The link you sent was for using an SD card not for FTP.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

I find the articles at the site a little biased.
especially this:

The 936L/5030l haven't been out too long.. and yet it is popular? I haven't even considered it ...
The 2330L I can agree with for outdoors stuff... but honestly dlink?
